08 September 2026: Cellbion and AHN-GOOK Pharmaceutical announced a collaboration for the joint development of next-generation radiopharmaceuticals
Cellbion and AHN-GOOK Pharmaceutical announced a memorandum of understanding to jointly research and develop next-generation radiopharmaceutical therapies, combining Cellbion’s radiopharmaceutical R&D expertise with AHN-GOOK’s drug development and commercialization capabilities
Under the agreement, the companies will establish a joint RPT research platform covering targeted radiopharmaceutical cancer therapies, technology and academic information exchange, identification of new drug candidates, and collaboration on preclinical and clinical development
The collaboration addresses the growing need for more precise cancer treatments that can selectively deliver therapeutic radiation to tumors while limiting exposure to healthy tissues, as radiopharmaceutical therapy gains momentum as an emerging targeted oncology modality
Cellbion specializes in theranostic radiopharmaceuticals that combine tumor-targeting molecules with radioactive isotopes for diagnosis and treatment; its lead 177Lu-DGUL program for metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer has completed phase 2 in Korea and is undergoing regulatory review following a conditional marketing authorization application
Strategically, the partnership expands AHN-GOOK’s portfolio beyond conventional synthetic pharmaceuticals into radiopharmaceuticals while enabling Cellbion to leverage established drug development and commercialization capabilities, with both companies aiming to build a broader next-generation RPT pipeline through joint candidate discovery and development
