21 September 2026: Telix and ITM join forces to create a radiopharmaceutical powerhouse
Telix Pharmaceuticals announced a strategic agreement to merge with ITM Isotope Technologies Munich, creating a vertically integrated radiopharmaceutical company combining Telix’s theranostics and commercial capabilities with ITM’s large-scale radioisotope production and global distribution network
The transaction would bring together capabilities across development, isotope manufacturing and global supply, with ITM providing commercial-scale production of key therapeutic radioisotopes including lutetium-177, actinium-225 and terbium-161
The combination also adds ITM’s late-stage therapeutic pipeline, led by ITM-11 (177Lu-edotreotide), an SSTR-targeted radiopharmaceutical for GEP-NETs that has completed the phase 3 COMPETE study and could provide Telix with an entry into a validated therapeutic radiopharmaceutical market if approved
ITM-11 is a targeted radionuclide therapy comprising a somatostatin receptor-targeting molecule linked to the therapeutic radioisotope lutetium-177, while Telix brings late-stage therapeutic programs including TLX591-Tx, TLX101-Tx and TLX250-Tx, alongside its established precision-imaging franchise
Strategically, the merger strengthens Telix’s control of the radiopharmaceutical value chain and deepens isotope supply security while expanding its late-stage therapeutic portfolio; the deal values ITM at US$1.65 billion upfront, with up to an additional US$700 million contingent on regulatory and commercial milestones for ITM-11, subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals
