02October2026: AstraZeneca and Daiichi Sankyo collaborate with Summit Therapeutics to evaluate Datroway plus Ivonescimab across multiple tumor types
AstraZeneca and Daiichi Sankyo have entered a clinical collaboration with Summit Therapeutics to evaluate Datroway in combination with Ivonescimab across multiple tumor types, including lung and breast cancers, with a Phase 3 trial planned in first-line triple-negative breast cancer
The collaboration will initially focus on first-line TNBC, with the partners planning to expand evaluation across additional solid tumors. AstraZeneca or Daiichi Sankyo will sponsor the combination trials, while all three companies will contribute to trial costs and retain development and commercial rights to their respective medicines
The combination aims to address unmet needs in advanced TNBC and other solid tumors, where durable disease control remains challenging and new approaches are needed to improve outcomes beyond existing treatment options
Datroway is a TROP2-directed ADC comprising a humanized anti-TROP2 antibody linked to a topoisomerase I inhibitor payload (DXd) through cleavable tetrapeptide linkers. Ivonescimab is a bispecific antibody that combines PD-1 immune checkpoint inhibition with VEGF blockade, potentially pairing direct tumor-cell killing with antitumor immunity and inhibition of angiogenesis
Strategically, the collaboration extends Datroway’s development into ADC–immunotherapy combinations and expands Summit’s ivonescimab program into breast cancer. It also supports AstraZeneca and Daiichi Sankyo’s strategy to maximize Datroway’s potential across tumor types while exploring combinations with next-generation immunotherapies
