29 July 2026: AbbVie announces availability of ELAHERE in Singapore for the treatment of platinum-resistant Ovarian cancer
AbbVie announced the availability of ELAHERE, the first folate receptor alpha-targeted antibody-drug conjugate, in Singapore for the treatment of adults with FRα-positive, platinum-resistant high-grade serous epithelial ovarian, fallopian tube or primary peritoneal cancer who have received one to three prior systemic therapies
The availability is supported by the pivotal phase 3 MIRASOL trial, where ELAHERE significantly improved overall survival (16.9 vs 13.3 months; HR=0.67), progression-free survival (5.6 vs 4.0 months; HR=0.65), and objective response rate (42% vs 16%) compared with investigator’s choice chemotherapy in patients with FRα-positive platinum-resistant ovarian cancer
ELAHERE addresses a major unmet need in platinum-resistant ovarian cancer, a setting with historically poor outcomes and limited effective treatment options, by providing the first biomarker-directed ADC available in Singapore for FRα-positive disease
ELAHERE is an FRα-directed ADC comprising a monoclonal antibody linked via a cleavable linker to the maytansinoid DM4 payload. Following FRα-mediated internalization, intracellular release of DM4 disrupts microtubules, leading to tumor cell death while limiting off-target toxicity through biomarker-guided patient selection
Strategically, the Singapore launch expands AbbVie’s commercial footprint for ELAHERE across the Asia-Pacific region following the ImmunoGen acquisition, reinforces its leadership in biomarker-driven ADCs for gynecologic cancers, and supports broader adoption of FRα-targeted precision oncology in ovarian cancer
