20 October2026: Medicovestor announces FDA FTD for MC001, a first-in-class ADC for Pancreatic cancer
Medicovestor announced that the U.S. FDA has granted Fast Track Designation to MC001, its investigational first-in-class chemoimmunotherapy ADC, for pancreatic cancer. The designation follows recent IND clearance and builds on the Orphan Drug Designation granted in 2025
The designation supports the planned international, multicenter phase 1 clinical study of MC001 in patients with advanced or metastatic pancreatic cancer and other eligible folate receptor alpha-expressing solid tumors. The study will evaluate safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics and preliminary antitumor activity
The designation addresses a major unmet need in pancreatic cancer, particularly advanced disease, where treatment options remain limited and outcomes are poor, highlighting the need for new approaches that combine targeted tumor killing with additional antitumor mechanisms
MC001 is an FRα-targeted ADC developed using Medicovestor’s proprietary ADoBind antibody scaffold platform, combining targeted cytotoxic delivery with antibody-mediated innate immune effector functions. Its dimeric antibody design is intended to enhance immune-mediated tumor-cell killing beyond the direct cytotoxic activity of conventional ADCs
Strategically, the Fast Track Designation strengthens MC001’s regulatory positioning as it approaches first-in-human evaluation and advances Medicovestor’s differentiated chemoimmunotherapy ADC platform. If clinical studies validate its dual mechanism, MC001 could offer a distinct approach to treating pancreatic cancer and other FRα-expressing solid tumors
