ITM and SpiroChem announced a strategic drug discovery collaboration to advance a novel radiopharmaceutical candidate for ITM’s pipeline, combining SpiroChem’s drug discovery capabilities with ITM’s radiopharmaceutical development expertise
Under the collaboration, SpiroChem will lead hit identification and optimization using its macrocycle libraries and screening engine, while ITM will contribute radiopharmaceutical R&D capabilities spanning preclinical through clinical development to identify and advance a potential first-in-class candidate
The program is focused on a small-molecule targeting agent against a cancer-associated marker in a solid tumor with limited treatment options, addressing the need for new precision oncology approaches for hard-to-treat cancers
The collaboration combines SpiroChem’s proprietary macrocycle libraries, screening and molecular-design platforms with ITM’s expertise in radiopharmaceutical development and radioisotope-based targeted therapies to discover high-affinity binders suitable for targeted radionuclide therapy
Strategically, the partnership expands ITM’s radiopharmaceutical discovery capabilities and broadens its pipeline, which currently comprises 13 candidates spanning preclinical development through phase 3, while enabling the company to pursue novel biological targets beyond its existing portfolio
