29 September 2026: Nurix Therapeutics announced a $7 million milestone achievement under its strategic collaboration with Pfizer
Nurix Therapeutics announced the achievement of a US$7 million research milestone under its strategic collaboration with Pfizer for the discovery and development of degrader antibody conjugates, a novel modality combining antibody-mediated targeting with targeted protein degradation
The milestone brings the total payments received by Nurix under the collaboration to US$82 million, following the US$60 million upfront payment and prior milestone payments; the 2023 agreement provides eligibility for up to US$3.4 billion in research, development, regulatory and commercial milestones across multiple programs
The collaboration is focused on developing a new therapeutic approach that could address limitations of conventional cytotoxic ADCs by selectively degrading disease-driving intracellular proteins rather than directly delivering a cytotoxic payload
DACs combine the cell- and tissue-selectivity of antibodies with the catalytic mechanism of targeted protein degraders, potentially providing multiple layers of selectivity through antigen expression, the intracellular protein target and E3 ligase expression
Strategically, the milestone provides further validation of Nurix’s targeted protein degradation platform and advances its partnership with Pfizer, while expanding the ADC landscape beyond conventional cytotoxic payloads toward degrader-based conjugates with the potential to target previously difficult-to-drug proteins
