15 July 2026: Protina partners with Onconic Therapeutics on next-generation cancer drugs
Proteina and Onconic Therapeutics have entered a strategic collaboration to develop next-generation oncology therapies, combining Proteina’s antibody engineering and protein interaction analysis capabilities with Onconic’s oncology drug development expertise to advance novel targeted therapeutics
The partnership will focus on the joint development of molecular glue-based targeted protein degradation therapies while also establishing technology platforms for antibody-oligonucleotide conjugates and degrader-antibody conjugates, two emerging modalities in the next-generation ADC landscape
The collaboration aims to address key limitations of conventional cytotoxic ADCs by exploring alternative payload and delivery approaches, with AOCs and DACs attracting increasing interest for their potential to improve target specificity, broaden therapeutic applications, and enhance treatment outcomes
A central component of the partnership is the application of Proteina’s protein-protein interaction analysis and AI-enabled antibody design technologies to optimize antibody, linker, and payload selection, supporting the discovery and development of more effective next-generation conjugate therapeutics
Strategically, the alliance expands both companies’ presence in emerging ADC-adjacent modalities, strengthens South Korea’s innovation ecosystem in targeted oncology drug development, and highlights growing industry interest in combining protein degradation technologies with next-generation conjugate platforms to create differentiated cancer therapies
